Kelvin Grove Resort is a family owned Drakensberg Mountain Resort nestled in the picturesque foothills of the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg’s Champagne Valley Area.

Kelvin Grove Resort is a tranquil oasis in a serene mountain setting where you can regain your sanity without the hustle or bustle of city life. At Kelvin Grove Resort we offer self catering cottges, camping and caravanning with plenty of activities for young and old alike. Wonderful mountain views can be enjoyed from many of the caravan sites.  Electricity boxes placed at points throughout the campsite, please bring long extensions for "hook-up". Separate water and drainage facilities are also available to most sites.

We have 4, two bed-roomed, self-catering farm style cottages that can each accommodate up to 6 persons. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and separate bathroom. There are private braai areas for each cottage. Four of the cottages have fireplaces.

A two bed-roomed flat and a one bed-roomed flat with a bathroom en-suite.

The cottages are serviced every morning by reliable staff for your convenience.

For Black bass fishing there is a boat provided, and beautiful picnic sites adorn the banks of our dams. River tubing or white water rafting can be arranged.

Wonderful hiking through the peaceful forest in the foothills of the Berg which are alive with bird and wild life. Breathe in the fresh, clear oxygen that the trees give off and feel rejuvenated.

Close to Kelvin Grove Resort are Monks Cowl, Cathedral Peak, Giants Castle and Injasuti.

Horse riding whether it be a beginner or experience rider can also be organised, and is within a 10 minute drive, or bring your own horses and accompany hosts on exhilarating cross-country rides.

River tubing or white water rafting can be arranged.

Bring mountain bikes and experience easy and challenging terrain, riding in the foothills of the Central Berg.

Hang gliding / paragliding is accessible from our private launch site, Arthurs Seat, 1500ft (bring own equipment). The landing site is right at the resort no need for collection points.

At Kelvin Grove Resort we have our own private Microlight runway and landing strip that is 475m long with secure parking for the microlights.

We offer off-road motor biking with Enduro trails. Some of the best riding in South Africa out into the Drakensberg. (Bring own bikes). Catered or self catered off road riding weekends for group or quad or dirt bike riders .

Fishing from our two well stocked bass dams on the farm, with Fly-fishing in nearby Berg streams.

Go-karts, quads, junior quads is all available within a 10-minute drive,as well as one of South Africas top golf courses is close by!

The Drakensberg is a haven for bird watchers and nature lovers. Bird watching with an excess of over 280 species of birds has been sighted: Raptors, including Gymnogene, long crested eagles, jackal buzzards, steppe buzzards, owls, night jars, greater double collared sunbirds.






We are centrally located to both Johannesburg and Durban. Kelvin Grove Resort is the ideal venue to explore the Drakensberg or to spend a few days relaxing, enjoying the spectacular mountain setting.
